I love how in this Unit plan (math) the language demands were clearly mapped out and specified for students to understand how they will be receiving information and producing evidence of learning. One thing I may have done to support students better would have been to not only have students read the directions to certain tasks but to also orally listen to them and visually see what they were being asked to do. Sometimes, especially for ELL students, it is best to be as visual as possible. I admire how this unit plan also has extra supports in the writing aspect of language demands, such as sentence stems, and allowing for gestures and illustrations. I wonder what the purpose of the function and form section is of this unit plan in the language demands and how/if they would change. The function of the language demands should be the same regardless right? I also am missing the key vocabulary words in this section and would have appreciated maybe an example of a sentence stem the teacher would use. Other than that, I like how the language demands were communicated in this lesson.
