Our life's routine exhaust and destroy our energy and power. Give yourself time and enjoy. With all that stress we are loosing a lot. We need to be mindful and take care of ourself. Go outside, run, listen to music and be away from the stress. Actually, we all know that and say that to our self, but do we really think about these obligations to ourself?!
Not, really ."I have a lot to do" These thoughts keep us not just tired it also affect our performance. The students need to learn how to take care of themselves.
Something I did it with my students is using the dinner triangle or whatever you call it. It is a musical tool, has a metal triangle and a metal stick. I Ask my student to close their eyes listen to the sound and focus. I hit the triangle with the stick and they have to keep their eyes closed until the sound stop, then they open their eyes. It took less than a minute, but the students liked it and started to take turn to hit the triangle. This practice is to calm the students, get their attention and as a result they engage in math after this. The other practice that I noticed is what the 5th grade teacher does. She used to turn music on when students have test.
To me, I free my soul easily by walking or listen to the music. We can also watch our food, sugar and calories, that I stopped doing since April.
