Questions


Questioning… questioning can be a quite a challenge for me. I am quick to give students the answer when they ask me for help, or I notice something they are doing. Sometimes the questions I attempt to use are terrible and not very effective. I need to start preplanning the questions I want to use in the lessons and think about where students may get stuck and how I can help them think about the material.

I notice my CT give more direction rather than ask questions. She tells students to share their ideas and offers examples to help students connect to the material. She will bring up noticing’s when students are working and allow the students to respond. If there is a question on a Pear Deck it is often a formative question and allows us to gauge students’ progress with the material.‌
