"Necessity is the the mother of invention!" I grew up with this quote and actually I do not know who said it first, and if it is in English exactly as I translated from Arabic. This quote jumped on my mind when I was trying to write about these days school circumstances, and how this will impact our students thoughts and beliefs about science. I used to love math and science because there is always something new you can learn. This idea keep me excited and read more and more to learn what is new and think what could be created. Even the cartoon that I used to watch in in 1880s was UFO which was talking about 2022, was giving me that curiosity.
When all the world attacked by COVID-19, all countries start to use technology to recompense the in person learning to remote one. Even these countries who has not have good quality for internet. The needs to use technology enforce them to start search and learn more about using it to satisfy the need of their students. Many students love the idea of being on computer than working on a sheet and this increased their engagement in the learning process.
During the last few week students start to use technology to learn more playing games and watching videos for fun. As a mom I used to count hours that my kids should spend on their computers; but last couple months I was feeling satisfied and proud of both of them sitting in front of the screen doing assignment and preparing for their lesson. Computer science now play a main roll in our life and the need to understand how it works, accompanied with math which is a big part of it, appears as a daily life routine. Our students now, can realize the big connection between the science and math in on side and the real world on the other side.
