by Andy BellFirst and foremost UDL is about inclusion. UDL helps ensure that all students have access to information and materials that engage them academically. It isn't for any specific learner but all types of learners.UDL gives students choices in engagement, representation, and action and expression. These choices help students access information easier and show what they know in multiple ways.UDL "evens the playing field" in a way because it is inclusive and caters to the needs of individuals rather than large, pre-determined groups of learners. Students are encouraged to be understanding of others' differences just as they are allowed to express themselves in non-traditional ways.Ultimately UDL creates more confident students who are capable of anything they put their minds to. UDL is empowering for students and their communities. Share: Twitter Facebook
