What it means to be a STEM Teacher to me is giving students an opportunity to see what STEM is all about and have an understanding of what it is. The definition we are being told is, "Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics is a broad term used to group together these academic disciplines."
Given the opportunity of allowing students to question and push ideas in the STEM field is where I think is the greatest part of being in this field. With the opportunity given yes we do teach the background and fundamentals we are also allowing the students to ask questions and for them to create their own inquiries. As inquiries there are no complete answers as once you get an answer you are able to ask more questions directing in the same idea. Through an educators view of challenging ideas and showing the real world applications that are being used in the world. We have the thought that we strictly stay in STEM but in all reality we connect so many more subjects into this idea. STEM is just the stepping stone into where you see the students flourish in what they enjoy learning about.
