(Re)humanizing

I really connected with Chris Emden's video and his idea of reality pedagogy. I particularly liked his idea of co-teaching and the role reversal it suggests. This idea would really allow students to deeply engage with content and give them a different perspective. This also aligns with the UDL guidelines and would support students in their exploration of new content. I am passionate about science and I love being able to impart the interesting aspects about the subject to others. Having students gain an interest in their own learning about science is really what I want to focus on as an educator. I want the students to look forward to school and to look forward to broadening their minds with the things that interest them. There are so many different concepts and ideas in the field of science and I want to help students find what they would enjoy learning about. I really enjoyed cell biology, anatomy, and physiology because I enjoyed figuring out how physical things work. I want to use student interests to guide the class and the direction of learning.
